Keeping a band together in LA without ‘a deal’ is a challenge and the Spears were not the exception. Personnel changes were frequent. The OG Spears, Phil Bunch, Keith Rosier, Bruce Marien, gave way to Dave Batti (bass), Chris Boehme (drums), (Dennis Kenmore drums on Caroline & Talk To Me) and a multitude of guitar players.
Kit Taupin managed, Peter Haden (R.I.P) engineered and Skip Drinkwater co-produced. And in true LA fashion, we played a show for Clive Davis, recorded a single for Elton & Bernie’s Rocket Records and rehearsed at the legendary Alley in North Hollywood.
